We are currently seeking participants for the following studies:
1.We are looking for mother and child volunteers to take part in a study regarding feeding disorders in children ages 1 to 7 years with autism spectrum disorders.
Participation would include:
- A video-recorded mealtime interaction in which a mother will feed her child both preferred and non-preferred food.
- Mother and child will both be attached to heart rate monitors to track physiological response.
- Total participation would last for approximately 1 hour.
2. We are looking for volunteers to take part in a study regarding accessibility to health-promoting occupations for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Volunteers must be adults over the age of 18 who have an Intellectual Disability and are no longer enrolled in high school programming.
Participation would include:
- Using a camera to take photos in your day-to-day life of what you think it means to be healthy.
- Provide a narrative description of the photos you took.
- Reflect and discuss your photos with fellow participants.
- The study will last a duration of 6 weeks and will include 1 training session, 1-4 photo taking sessions, and 1-3 interview and or focus group session.
- As a token of appreciation, you will receive $15 at the conclusion of the study.

3. We are looking for volunteers to participate in an intervention study within the context of the home.
Participation would include:
- A 6-month parent-mediated intervention to target challenging feeding behaviors in children with autism.
- Trained interventionist, parent, and child will work together through education, modeling, and independent parent implementation to address the child’s goals in a natural context.
